PIVOT Complete Mounting Solution - AIR2
The Air2 has incorporated many changes and updates from the Air1 PIVOT. We took feedback from our amazing user group of 8300+ pilots at Southwest Airlines and took great care to try and weave in as many of the updates they suggested as possible.
The Air2 PIVOT features:
Enhanced connection tabs between the front and rear frames. This has enhanced the drop performance even higher than our iPad Air1 Pivot Case.
Low Profile Feet – the addition of feet has made the PIVOT much more stable on smooth surfaces – especially those with a gradient like a glareshied in the aircraft.
Muted Color Scheme – while maintaining our trademark Floro-Yellow color scheme, Air2 limits this to the clip and the splash seal in the front frame, which promotes a more subdued case which will suit a wider margin of users.
Additional Storage Location – hidden in the other end of the case is a compartment sized identically to the ID Window ideal for long term storage of money or other documents – or even a third party tracking receiver in case of device theft.
Precision Fit – Air2 features relocated microphone locations as well as movement of other switches. Engineered to provide best possible reception and camera operation while maximizing device protection.
Enhanced Folio Features – Air2 features an upgraded folio that incorporates auto on/off upon open and close of the folio. Additionally, when the user completely opens the folio, it will magnetically hold to the back of the case. The folio also showcases turned edge construction and welded edges on the connector which will enhance performance and lifespan.
Standard Features unique to PIVOT Cases:
PIVOT was specifically designed for aviation industry use. The design focuses not just on drop protection, EFB use, or the convenience of viewing videos and writing email. It’s ALL of those things - with the 24/7/365 experience of a typical airline pilot as the driving factor.
Our patented quick release system can only be found on PIVOT products. The convenience of installation and removal are unequaled in the aviation industry. The EFB can’t be the thing that makes a flight push back late, or unnecessarily delays you in heading for the parking lot after your trip is over.
Every PIVOT case will always use the identical mounting channel and mounting plate. This makes device replacement much less complicated for large and small operators alike. This also allows the company to retain flexibility and negotiating power when selecting a particular device or vendor. The aircraft mounts always remain the same so the company can truly make the right choice of technology.
One touch adjustment of the screen to combat glare or a seat height adjustment removes the multi-step, two handed process common to the “other guys” mounts. Making the view exactly what you need and achieving it as easily as adjusting a rear view mirror, reduces fatigue and enhances device use and effectiveness.
The PIVOT removable folio is a virtually instantaneous way to convert from personal use to mounted viewing for EFB use. The folio is conveniently equipped with multiple viewing angles when using outside of the cockpit. When closed and in transit, it provides robust screen protection from incidental impact. It also provides additional drop protection for front side drops as it tends to absorb most of the impact forces and then is backed up by the hard shell of the case body. The folio removal and installation process is simple and efficient. You will be confident that your device will be protected in transit, and it will perform admirably for personal use during down time on trips.
PLAY. WORK. PLAY. The PIVOT design ultimately falls back to this concept. A pilot’s life is defined by work and play. It depends on who you are to determine what is work and what is play, but it’s universal that we all want to make the most out of our PLAY. right up until it is time to WORK…. and so on. PIVOT’s very design insures you can do both – it’s built to get the most out of the device wherever you want to use it, in or out of the cockpit.

Well we've adjusted, changed, and nailed down what we think is the best color palette for the custom headsets that you all love. These are all subject to change and may not be exact, but they're all pretty close, and should give you a good reference page for all our color options, both solid and metallic. We'll be adding and subtracting as we go, and refine down what works the best.
Using a tape measure, measure your head about one fingertip above your eyebrows & ears where a hat would rest. Be certain that the tape measure is straight, not twisted. Alternatively, you can use piece of string to measure your head in the same way, and then measure the length of the string with a ruler. If you are not certain about size, or are between sizes, buy the larger size.
|How To Measure
||Head Size (cm)||Head Size (in)||Choice|
|54cm & down||6 5/8" & down||Child|
|60cm & up||7 3/8" & up||Adult Large|
All of our mic boom options are fantastic choices, and none of them are less functional than the others, just different in their own way. They all come with our top of the line microphones and will provide you with years of fit and function.
|Steel-Wire Boom||Half-Flex Boom||Full-Flex Boom|
|Our Steel-Wire boom is a modified version of a traditional, because you can see we have a ball-and-socket joint in the middle allowing for more dynamic movement in the boom. The old style steel wire only had an elbow joint there making it difficult to get positioned properly. Any of you military aviators know exactly what I'm talking about. Our Steel-Wire boom is a great choice to bring back the good nostalgia and not the bad.||The Half-Flex boom is a combination of new and old, combining the steel-wire base with the full-flex tip. A great solution if you are petite or a child, because rather than having to bend the boom all the way around to your mouth, you just slide the steel-wire base back on the standoff and make the boom shorter. If it's for a child, the boom grows with them. As they get bigger, they can slide the steel wire base out and make the boom longer as needed. Pretty cool. :)||Finally, the Full-Flex boom is our most popular boom choice. This is the newest boom technology and is a fully flexible steel cable system that allows full flexibility as to where you want your mic. It is a stiff coiled cable that will stop wherever you position it. It's akin to the flexible USB lights that you may have for your laptop. You put the mic where you want it, and it stays there. The difference is, ours will stand up to the most rigorous use. Others just go limp, like their quality.|
High Vibration Locking ANR Module
Our locking ANR module option is designed to keep the control box connected no matter how much it shakes, rattles, or rolls. The screw-on connector won't come loose even in an old warbird, and you can still stow it away safe and sound, where it won't be swingin' around. A must have in almost any aircraft.
When you're selecting the right headpad for your headset, it is a personal decision. Both have pros and cons, depending on your mission. So, "Choose...but choose wisely."
|The Cotton Headpad has great wicking with the 100% cotton cloth and breathable foam insert. Keeps your head cool and still pretty soft.||The Sheepskin Headpad is just as soft as it sounds. All those long hairs are able to spread out any pressure and keep your head nice and warm.|
When selecting your earseals, this is another personal preference that can only be decided by your needs. They both have their benefits, you just have to decide which one's you want.
|Our True Gel earseals have twin layers. Not only does this help with noise reduction, but it makes them even softer on your head. Very cool, and conform perfectly to you.||Leatherette earseals are the way to go, if you want soft, warm supple hide against your skin. They may lose a little in noise reduction, but the comfort is amazing.|
